Donna Sullivan

Obituary of Donna Sullivan

Donna Keith Sullivan, 69, of Paxville, SC, won her final battle against Alzheimer’s at 3:10 on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at The Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC.  You may have heard that she is dead, but don’t believe a word of it. Donna is more alive now than she ever was. Jesus said in John 11:25: “I am the one who raises the dead to life! Everyone who has faith in me will live, even if they die”.

Mrs. Sullivan was born on September 6, 1949 in Sumter, SC to the late Luther Creevy Keith and Sarah Mae Keith.  Donna loved her husband, 3 children and 11 grand children in a fierce, sacrificial and committed way. Her family says Proverbs 31:25-29 sums up who she was: “She is strong and graceful, as well as cheerful about the future.  Her words are sensible, and her advice is thoughtful. She takes good care of her family and is never lazy. Her children praise her, and with great pride her husband says, “There are many good women, but you are the best!” She leaves behind a strong legacy.  Donna honored the Lord with her life, had a big smile that could light up a room, celebrated the small things in life, lived in the moment, served others in a Christ like manner, loved to laugh and make others laugh, adored her kids and grandkids, worked hard and was a faithful friend to many.  She modeled patience, grace and Godly character throughout her time here on earth. She managed her home and family with excellence. She loved her family unconditionally and led them to do their best. Outside of telling and showing others the love of Jesus, Donna’s greatest desire was for her family to be close and for those around her to be laughing and happy.  She cherished her roles as wife, mom and Nanny.

Prior to Alzheimer’s stealing so much from Donna, you could find her reading to her grands, watching dance recitals, cheering on her kids and grands in sports, finding every scholarship known to man, performing the “ostrich”, planning the next trip to her beloved mountains and coast, singing, serving, sitting with Boo-Boo and the original Nanny, catching the Miami Sea Breeze, or enjoying life with her husband, family and friends.  Donna was a 1967 graduate of Edmunds High School in Sumter, SC and a 1969 graduate of Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her Radiologic Technologist degree.

Donna is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Joe Sullivan, of Paxville, SC;  son, Shawn Sullivan and wife, Amy, of Elgin, SC and their children, Gabriel, Micah, Tobias, Delaney and Keeley; son, Drew Sullivan and wife, Tammie, of Mills River, NC and their children, Lawson, Finley and Arden; daughter, April Sullivan Hamilton and husband, Raymond, of Lexington and their children, Georgia, Sullivan and Callen; brother, Luther Creevy Keith, Jr. and wife, Cathy, of Lugoff, SC and sister, Mary Keith Elliot and husband, Anthony, of Panola, SC.

A Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Friendship Baptist Church in Lugoff, SC.  A Celebration Service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1:00PM at Paxville Baptist Church in Paxville, SC.  The family will receive friends at 12:30 before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association at 140 Stoneridge Drive Ste 210 Columbia, SC 29210 or online at http://act.alz.org/goto/memoryofdonnasullivan
