Obituary of Marjorie Kay Donovan

Marjorie Kay Donovan Jones (Margie), aged 72, passed away on October 30, 2018, at

Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, surrounded by her children and sisters.

Margie, most recently of Sumter, was born in Toccoa, GA and grew up in Columbia,

SC, where she attended Eau Claire High School. She later received her Bachelor of

Science in Nursing, which allowed her to use her natural gifts caring for others as an

oncologist nurse and home health nurse. Her deep love, respect, and generosity

towards others is a legacy she left to all who loved her. One of her greatest joys was

the giving of gifts to her family, friends and those unable to do for themselves.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Jones; and her parents,

Richard Frank Donovan and Ellette Bond Donovan.  She is survived by her three children: Jamie Young (Mary) of St. Simons Island, GA; Tosha Young (Mark) of Greenville, SC; and Roger Anthony (April) of North Carolina; eight grandchildren: Evans, Caroline, James, Jackson, Claire, Briley, Meg and Amelia; and three sisters: Gail Deith of Lexington, Barbara Boone, of Charleston and Cathy

Ellison, of Elizabeth City, NC.
