In the 1980's, he raised Appaloosa horses and was involved with local Appaloosa associations and Andrews Saddle Club, often working the announcer booth. Archie helped to coach little league baseball in the 1980's, and children's basketball in the 1990's. Since the 1990's, Archie has been officiating and refereeing track and field events of all ages, including Special Olympics and USATF through 2021. After retiring from BCBS, Archie worked at the West Columbia Chick-Fil-A until the summer of 2021. He lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love.
