Obituary of David Craig Thomas, II

David Craig Thomas II, of Columbia, South Carolina, tragically and suddenly passed away on March 18, 2023, at a young age of 32 years old.

David was the only child born on July 20, 1990, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and preceded in death by his biological mother, Pamela Mitchell.  After her passing in 2003, he moved with his father, David Craig Thomas and new mother, Joyce (McKnight) Thomas.  As a Military Family, we moved to Columbia, South Carolina in May 2006, upon his father's retirement from the military.  He attended Ridgeview High School and graduated in June 2008.

As an adamant fan of South Carlina Gamecock Football, he attended many games and worked with the team on the field during home and away games.

He loved to cook.  He could make something out of nothing, and make it taste so delicious.  He sharpened his talents for cooking by working at Red Lobster for more than six (6) years, L.B. Nelson Elementary School for three (3) years, Circle K for three (3) years, and worked at Applebee’s Bar and Grill prior to his passing.

David was smart, spunky, handsome, brave, strong, independent, funny, and the loving person that we all adored. The loss of his life has devastated our family and he is greatly missed by all who knew him, loved him and by everyone whose life he touched.  Gone too soon, but God doesn’t make mistakes.

His oldest son, David Craig Thomas III (Nickname DJ) was born on April 21, 2010.  His youngest son, Davion Chase Thomas was born on April 3, 2016.

He survived by his beloved parents, David Craig Thomas, Joyce (McKnight) Thomas, grandmother, Grenada (Hughes) Thomas; three sisters: Maureen L. Thomas, Janine N. Thomas, Jonika J. Thomas; two brothers: Davon A. Thomas (wife Amber Wright Thomas), Davien I. Thomas and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, and many friends that loved him so dearly.

Contact his father, David Craig Thomas, for additional information.
