Obituary of Shephard English Cook, Jr.

Shephard English Cook Jr, 63, of Ridgeway, SC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 after a long battle with colon cancer.  He was born in Columbia Hospital on January 27, 1959. 

Shephard grew up in Ridgeway, SC, later moving to Conway, SC. He was a skillful carpenter and landscaper.  He loved to work with his hands and could build anything. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Shephard E. Cook, Sr; mother and stepfather; Willie Mae and Bill Davis, brother; Johnny Mack Cook and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Cook Cannon (Justin) and two grandchildren, Jacob and Marisa Cannon of Irmo, SC. niece and nephew; Elisha Cook and Jeremy Cook of Winnsboro, SC, paternal uncles and aunts; James Cook (Cecilia) of Florence, SC, Dale Cook (Mary) of Lexington, SC, Betty Jean Deshong (Fred) Of West Columbia, SC, maternal uncles and aunts; Delmus Gunter (Brenda) of Ridgeway, SC, Sadie Ferguson of Columbia, SC, Jeanette Nixon of Ridgeway, SC, and many other cousins. 

Shephard was known affectionately by his family as Pee Wee and/or Shep. He will be deeply missed. A private memorial will be held for Shephard at a later date.
