Obituary of Marie Caristi Buerkert

Marie C. Buerket of Spring Hill, FL, widow of Edward V. Buerkert, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 20, 2018. 

Born May 13, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to the late James Anthony Caristi and Angelina Zottarelli Caristi.

She worked for 39 years with Berkshire Hathaway as a Property Manager where she enjoyed meeting new clients.  She was the President of the Florida & New York chapters of teh Professional Woman in Business Association.  She later went on to become the President of the FL Realtors Association in Hernando County.  She was an active member of The Hope Community Bible Church in Spring Hill, FL where she was a church organist.  She was a member of the Alliance Woman's Ministry which helped support the Christian and Missionary Alliance.  While living in New City, New York, she also worked for Coyle and Coyle Insurance Agency as the Office Manager for 30 years.  Early in her career, she began as the secretary for the Boy Scouts of America in New York City.  In her spare time, she loved playing the piano and cooking delicious Italian food. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Anthony Caristi.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Edward J. Buerkert and his wife, Diane, of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Julianne, Jonathan, and Elizabeth; her 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara D'Addario, concert pianist in Camarillo, CA; her Buerkert sisters and brothers-in-law; her cousin, Billy Zottarelli; and her sister-in-law, Betty Caristi.

Her family remembers her fondly and will miss her dearly.  She reflected and meditated on her favorite verse Philippians 4:6-7.
