Obituary of Ruth B. Collins

Ruth B. Collins, 81 died on February 12, 2022, at her home in West Columbia, South Carolina.

Ruth was born May 21, 1940 in Blackville, South Carolina to the late Callie and Alma Gibson Black. Ruth retired from Kmart in 2002. During retirement she enjoyed helping others and taking care of her pets. Ruth loved to sit on the porch and watch the birds and squirrels play in the yard. 

Ruth is preceded by a sister, Martha Black of Columbia, South Carolina and her granddaughter, Jennifer Ashley Collins of West Columbia, South Carolina.  She is survived by two sons; Derek Collins of West Columbia, South Carolina, and Tim Collins of Gaston, South Carolina, her grandson, Joey Collins of Gaston, South Carolina, six great-grandchildren, two sisters; Polly Hair, Florence Keadle and a brother, James Black all of Blackville, South Carolina.

Ruth was cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest on March 12, 2022 at 12 pm in Celestial Memorial Gardens, 3111 Delree St, West Columbia, SC 29170.
