Obituary of Mildred Anne Czeresko

Mildred Anne Czeresko passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022, in Columbia, SC at the age of 84.

Mildred, known to all as “Millie,” was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on December 21, 1937. She worked as an Executive Secretary for Midlantic Bank (now PNC) in Woodbridge, NJ. She later moved to SC to be with her family and worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia, SC. She was a hard worker and dedicated provider for her children.

Millie loved sewing, gardening, walking, watching hummingbirds and chatting with all the people she met in the Harbison community. She was involved in her church and touched the lives of all whom she encountered. She impacted her community directly through such acts as knitting 100 hats for the homeless, as well as cancer patients with hair loss. Millie cared dearly for her little house and took great pride in decorating it.

She was a fighter, having survived diabetes, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.

Mildred is survived by her children, Paul John and Deborah Anne Christine and grandchildren, Paul John III, and Andrew Joseph. Her love for her grandchildren was unparalleled.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on April 2, 2022 at 10:30 am at Decided Church, 2101 Kennerly Rd, Irmo, SC 29063. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter, 140 Stoneridge Dr #640, Columbia, SC 29210.
